![]() The new 2017 model Smart Art nail art printer is finally here, and it's every bit as awesome as we'd anticipated. The new Smart Art nail art printer still does all the great work that the old model did like printing high resolution digital images on 5 finger nails at a time, printing on fresh roses and small promotional objects but it's added a ton of exciting new features. You no longer need your own computer to run your nail art printer because this machine features an on-board computer. Our newest offering has two enormous 15" touch screens to easily position your images exactly as your client wants them. It has a great new image gallery with hundreds of new images, there's something for everyone - fun, fashionable, elegant, funky - you name it, there is something to suit everyone's tastes. And the kicker? As a limited time launch offer, we'll be offering all the new features that come with this great new release at the same price as the old model! ![]() So we're well into 2017 and NSI Digital Nail Art Printer has been dead quiet... What on earth has been happening? Well a ton of stuff has been happening. Firstly we've been working hard on updating our brand. We've been supplying the South African market for nearly 15 years and a new look is just SO overdue. Here's our new logo on the left. Let us know what you think of the new look either in the comments below or on our Facebook page, you KNOW we always love to hear from our peeps! The other big news is that our machine design engineers have let us know that a brand new nail printer model is due to be released soon. We're so excited about that. We haven't been able to see the new machine yet, but from what we've heard it's going to be even more awesome! We're told its going to feature an on-board computer with touch-screen operation, freshly designed finger clamps and attachments and a killer new image gallery. Even better, it's still to be confirmed but it looks like we'll be able to offer all these awesome new features without a price increase! Whoop, even more value. Can't wait to see it, and when we do you'll be the first to know right here. We're also looking to release a brand new Social Commentary image range in June. Super exciting and bang-on trend with the international fashionistas, ladies all over the world want to express their social views on their nails. Among others the new catalogue will feature images for Black lives matter, Rainbow nation, Earth awareness, Wild life preservation, anti-cruelty to animals, LGBT activism, anti abuse against women and children and so much more - so keep an eye out for that. We'll be making it available as an add-on to the existing catalogues and best of all, it will be available to all nail art printers, not only our own customers. So if you bought a nail art printer from our opposition, don't worry, you're also soon going to get the opportunity to experience the awesome Smart Art customer service levels ;) The technology of nail art printing has evolved considerably since it first came out. Printing is a better resolution now than ever before, top nail art printer suppliers install the machines, train salon staff how to use them and offer local technical support. Until recently cheap models from the East were still only compatible with Windows XP (if you can believe it) but the best and latest models are now compatible with Windows 10. 1. A nail salon is a business first ![]() It’s all fine and well to be all precious about the artistry of nail art, but even great art usually doesn’t pay the bills, ask van Gogh. The digital sphere offers no design limitations and a base print can easily be used in tandem with 3D work sans the steady hand required to painstakingly paint the base design. 2. Time & cost saving ![]() Good, detailed nail art can often take hours to complete. A highly detailed print can be done in less than 10 seconds per nail at a material cost of around 90c per nail. Now consider that nail art goes on average around R 150.00 to R 250.00 per set, the profitability is obvious to even the least finance-savvy entrepreneur. In addition, the salon is still free to use their preferred products for base coat and top coat over the printed design, there’s no reason to change those, but there is a huge saving because a lot of product is often wasted in the techniques for creating hand-painted nail art. 3. Easier to give clients what they want ![]() One of the most annoying moments in any nail artist’s life is when a client shows them a picture on their cell phone and asks them to replicate it. With an in-house digital nail art printer, simply make the appointment a day or two in advance, upload the picture to your laptop and crop and prepare it in the right format and just like that, you’re giving your client EXACTLY what they wanted. Even if what they wanted was a photo of their cat… or boyfriend… or prize winning flowering daffodil bulbs! 4. Return on Investment ![]() Doing only 15 to 20 sets per week means a top-of-the-range printer should pay for itself within 3 months. That’s a radical return on investment for any piece of business equipment. In most business sectors investors are comfortable with production assets showing ROI within 12 to 18 months. Even if you only do half as many nails, your new nail art printer is still showing exceptional ROI within only 6 months. 5. Increased customer traffic ![]() Being able to complete bespoke nail art in less time adds a huge advantage in that more clients can be satisfied in a shorter time space. Plus the technology is ‘cool and interesting’ and ‘cool and interesting’ always attracts more customers if marketed correctly. You can use a good multifunction nail art printer to print fresh flowers in-house as well as branded promotional gifts for your clients. This means great promotions can be run in-house, attracting more customers at a fraction of the cost of having promotional materials printed by a third party supplier. Top cutting edge nail salons are more and more starting to see the benefits of keeping up with technology for the sake of profitability and ultimate client satisfaction. The new WAH London salon is a perfect case-in-point. A Nail Art printer simply compliments what your nail salon is offering in every way and increases revenue and reduces costs in the process.
Send us pics of work you’ve done on your nail art printer, we’d love to feature your amazing designs on our website. Dealership opportunity for usa businesses ![]() We've now for the first time made the NSI Nail Art Printer available for dealerships in the USA. It's been known for years as the leading nail art printer in Sub-Saharan Africa, mainly due to the exceptional quality of the machine and the fact that local technical support is available and all the warranties are honoured locally. Previously we've always turned down requests from USA customers because we couldn't offer them the same level of service and support that we offer our local customers and for us, client service has always been key. We want our customers to be successful and "box-drops" are a thoughtless way of doing business. Particularly when your client is investing in an important piece of business equipment. ![]() By making our nail art printer available as a business opportunity in the USA, we will be able through our dealers to offer USA clients the same service levels that our local customers enjoy. We offer exclusive distribution rights for particular areas and considering how popular nail art is, how good an investment the machine is for a nail salon and the fact that every nail salon can be made more profitable with a machine that handles customised nail art for their clients in minutes - makes this a pretty sweet deal indeed! The NSI Nail Art Printer will be branded abroad as the NSE Nail Art Printer. We hope that this will mean that soon nail art salons in the USA will enjoy the same quality product and services that our clients locally enjoy! ![]() So I came across this great article in the Huffington Post about a nail artist in New York named Ami Vega who specialises in social commentary nail art. She says many of her clients come to her with ideas like Black Lives Matter and LGBT related ideas for nail art. She then collaborates with them to bring their ideas to life on their nails. Nail Art as Street Art Expressing views on social issues like feminism, racial inequality and cultural pride with nail art is to challenge perceptions in a unique and very personal way. The article goes on to liken nail art to street art - an ongoing, edgy expression of the self and a reflection of the social zeitgeist - as opposed to simply a question of vanity. As one can see on Ami's Instagram, she's doing fabulous work and it's all done by hand!
Go and check it out, I thought it was totally worth the read. What are your thoughts? Does nail art express vanity or personal world view. Do you express your beliefs and values on your nails? Do you think printed nail art infringes on this concept or compliments it? Technology can never replace nail artistry Some nail artists resist (and even resent) the introduction of the nail art printer as an affront to their artistry. This is far from the truth, there will always be artists who can hand craft spectacular nail art. The invention of the desk top printer certainly didn’t bother Picasso or Salvador Dali. Digital nail art printers are not a replacement technology, rather a complimentary one. The art of carpentry didn’t die with the advent of the electric lathe and grinding tools. Sculptors are still alive and well and revered as artists despite 3D printing technology. I don't want to imagine a world where an artist doesn’t paint a landscape because he can just take a photo on his cell phone! Great nail artists aren’t going to be disappearing anytime soon and that’s a brilliant thing. My jaw drops when I see the amazing stuff the true nail artists are designing and painstakingly crafting. Nail salons are a business first ![]() The problem within the nail salon environment, is one of profitability. It doesn’t matter how great a nail artist is, they still need to pay the rent and put food on the table. Your average client wants beautiful, customised nail art but doesn’t have the 4 hours to sit while a nail artist painstakingly builds a special nail art design with brushes and sponges. Not to mention in those 4 hours, the salon could have satisfied the customer’s nail art requirements with precision perfect designs AND packed in another 3 or 4 paying customers. ![]() A good nail art printer works well in a salon production environment, prints detailed high resolution nail art in a fraction of the time and exponentially increases the potential profitability of the salon. No matter how precious we’d like to be about the artistry, the fact is a salon is a business and to survive, it needs to grow the bottom line just like any business. As a piece of business equipment that is designed to increase profitability, the nail art printer is unparalleled in the beauty industry. A mere 20 sets of nail art per week pays for the machine within 3 months – in most business sectors the norm for return on investment for a new piece of business equipment is a year to 18 months. The cost of printing nails is significantly lower than hand-painted nail art both in materials and in time. An added advantage is that one needn’t do a new mani every time the client wants nail art – this can bring your clients through the door weekly to change only the nail art whimsically between fills and manicures. This means that the same client is spending up to 2 or 3 times more than if they’re only having their nails done every 4 to 6 weeks. As a nail art professional, don't undervalue your time ![]() As a nail art professional, how annoying is it when a client shows you a picture on their cell phone and asks you if you can do that? It needn’t be. This can be yet another revenue generating opportunity and artists have complete design freedom in the digital sphere. Nail art designs you can’t accomplish by hand or will take forever to paint, can be precisely replicated digitally in a few minutes. With printed nail art you still have the option to use any and all of your favourite products. Nail art printers do not spell the death of nail artists, it spells new revenue streams and increased profits for mainstream nail art business people. Have you ever had printed nail art done? Does your nail art salon have a nail art printer? If not, why not? Comment below and let us know what you think!
![]() NSI Cosmetic & Promotional Printer has released their new NSI AXIS 2017 - the first nail art printer to be compatible with the latest Microsoft operating system, Windows 10! This cosmetic & promotional printer and nail art printer still prints a staggering digital photographic resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi making it capable of printing incredibly detailed photographic images on nails, flowers and small promotional objects. The big advantage in a nail salon environment is the fact that it prints 5 fingernails at a time in under a minute. This means nail salons can offer their clients full colour intricate nail art designs in 30 to 40 minutes from start to finish. You have the freedom to create your own designs depending on what's trending or your clients can design whatever they want on their nails. No longer is it a problem if a client hands you a tatty picture they tore from a magazine, you can print it effortlessly in digital photographic detail. ![]() The nail art trend continues to gain traction globally. The demure French manicure still has it's place, but many clients want individualised, bespoke nail art on their fingernails. The problem for salons in the past has been that hand painted nail art is time consuming and sometimes the designs clients want are just not attainable by hand. This nail art printer allows manicurists that don't have the skills or time to do hand painted nail art, to still offer clients this service and make their business more profitable. The added advantage of course is that nail salons with a NSI AXIS 2017 will never again have to buy branded promotional gifts for their clients and will also be able to run highly customised promotions for special days like Valentine's, Mother's Day, Christmas and more with salon branded roses and salon branded customer giveaways. ![]() Yup! Imagine that??!! NSI Nail Art Printer has finally joined the Social Media age of technology and hooked up to its own twitter page! I was blown away by how much nail art and nail art images are already out there, I literally got lost in nail art posts on twitter for well over an hour... That's when I decided to also start blogging. Did I mention how awesome Twitter is for nail art? OMW!!! Please check out our new nail art twitter page and give us a follow.
